Intro/Skill Building
This class is designed for the new or not so new player: players who want to either learn the sport or want to gain more skills and confidence in playing games. You will learn court position before and during the point. You will learn how to serve/improve your current serve and your return. You will get the hang of scoring. You will know what a dink shot is and be able to hit a few dink shots in a row. You will learn footwork and stroke mechanics to keep the ball in play. We invite you to come build/enhance your skills so that you feel more comfortable in Open Play and Ladder Leagues.
Class will be 50% skills/drills and 50% coached game play. Skills/drills will focus on foundational shots such as serves, ground strokes, volleys, and soft hands/dinks. This class targets players with a 2-2.6 DUPR or those who have not yet established a DUPR.
Demo paddles are available. Please wear court shoes, eye protection and bring water/sun screen. Come early to learn how to access and set up nets.
See you on the courts,
Instructors: Cathy and Anne Marie
This class is for players who have taken our Intro Class or equivalent and have played Open Plays enough so that your basic shots are consistent. You'll learn more skills, strokes and strategies. You will also learn fun drill games to practice with your friends. Each class will end with coached game play.
This class will meet for 2 hours on 2 consecutive weeks, so you will receive 4 hours of instruction and feedback on your game!
Because there is typically a waitlist, players will not be credited for late cancelations if we cannot fill the spot before classes begin.

Note the different times on April 21! Here's what you are committing to:
This class focused on game play: shot selection & placement, court positions, reading your opposition, playing to your team strengths and creating an overall game strategy. We will evaluate your game play, practice ways to improve and then put that practice back in to play. Our goal is to provide constructive feedback to your specific game play.
To enable a more level playing field , this class is best for players who already have consistent shots with good court movement. The best DUPR rating for this class is between 2.5 and 3.5. We will rotate partners with games/drills throughout each session. If you do not meet these standards, we may ask you to consider other classes.
We look forward to sharing the courts with you!
