This is the best way to improve your game!
Each month will have four - 2 hour sessions, 1 per week.
Each month will focus on a different set of skills.
You will need to register separately for each month.
May 6,13,20,27: Net Play - 1
Dinking skills and strategy - straight across, forehand diagonal, backhand diagonal, blocking.
This class will focus on the proper focus stroke, body position, footwork, movement and strategy.
June 3,10,17,24: Net Play - 2
Attacks, forehand and backhand rolls, lobs, high-ball attacks, partner play, building to an attackable ball.
Special attention will be directed to reading your opponent and disguising your shots.
July 1,8,15,22: Approach shots and no-man’s land shots
This session will focus on being comfortable and competent moving from the baseline to the kitchen. Defensive and offensive perspectives will be considered. You will learn how to deal with balls at your feet, balls with spin, off to the side and balls that are higher. Drives and drop shots. Continued practice on rolling from the NVZ the ball to keep your opponent back (unless they took this class!)
August 5,12,19,26: Serves, Returns and Building a Point
Work on a variety of serves and returns as well as strategy for the first 5 shots and adapting your team’s strategy to your opponent’s weaknesses.
September 2,9,16,23: Drilling and Mentored Team Play
Continued work on the skills you’ve learned during the summer during drilling. Play sessions will have the Coach observing and providing suggestions on both technique and team strategy.
